Sheffield Lanes is commited to providing our bowlers a professional, fun atmosphere. We strive to maintain a competitive but fair lane condition for the wide variety of league bowlers. We are also commited to providing a friendly and fun, atmosphere to our many non-league customers.
Our Center
Sheffield Lanes is a 20 Lane AMF Center located in the Hopewell/Aliquippa area. Over the past 5 years, we have completely renovated our center (see our profile below or our remodeling page for details). We host men's, women's, mixed and our YABA (junior) leagues. We offer children's birthday parties, "Electric" bowl, scotch doubles and open bowling specials. We pride ourselves on our friendly, knowledgeable staff. Our lounge opens at 5:30pm daily and offers a snack food menu. We would love the opportunity to host your league or special event. Please contact us.
Company Profile
Sheffield Lanes was established in 1959 by Joe D'Agostino and Larry Turkovich. Larry & Joe worked together for many years establishing a solid league foundation.
In 1996, Larry retired and Joe became the sole proprietor. Joe's son Rick and his daughter-in-law Jeannie, worked with Joe to upgrade the center. Together, they began the long process of updating the center. With Joe's death in 2000, ownership has transfered to Joe's sons (Joe, Rick and Jeff) and Jeannie remained as the manager.
Improvements and upgrades have continued. New for the 2002 - 2003 season are DBA synthetic lanes, new masking panels and yes!! we did move the front counter! In the summer of 2003, we replaced the carpeting in the concourse area, changed the seating arrangement (new tables & chairs), removed the paneling in the entry hall, painted and extended the carpeting into the hall. The summer of 2004 once again had us working. We purchased new lockers and created a locker area, and a vending / game room, we had the parking lots re-paved. But, our BIGGEST improvement in 2004 --- New Bathrooms!! The summer of 2005 we've eased up a bit - we have only completed minor upgrades - Jeannie's office, floor tile behind the two counter areas and we've added black lights to lanes 1 - 12 (we're hoping to hold more cosmic parties!!).~~ Please stop in to see all of our improvements.
